Welcome to my new blog! I was in need of another form of expression for my changed self, so I started my Fleur de poubelle as a mean to focus on the things most important to me. I would like to sum them up and see them as one indivisible concept. Hope you'll like it.

Les Piqûres D'araignée

Camille Rowe-Pourcheresse for Jalouse France. Photographs by Paul Schmidt.
P.S. Can we stop exploiting the image of Brigitte Bardot each time we want to make sexy photos?
P.P.S. No, we can't. Nothing is sexier than a doe-eyed long-haired girl.

I Forgot To Take My Knife

And now there comes the time for something completely different. It's change, change, change. The spring brings the air of independence and intellectuality; an acute feeling of superiority over your own poor self. I think, the maxi skirt epitomizes it all. It carries a message. It's not only due to the 70's come-back that I felt an urge to buy and wear a maxi skirt. I wanted to own it, to let it grow on me. I'm going to toughen it up with a pair of loafers, on the one hand, and, to make the equation work, wear it with an utterly feminine nude top.

Veruschka

I first came across the name of Veruschka two years ago, after watching Michelangelo Antonioni's "Blow-up" (1966). Famous enough to play herself by that time, she has always been an amazing model AND an extraordinarily talented artist. Though she departed from the fashion industry in 1975, she has worked with the greatest photographers of the period. In a German documentary about her she told a very inspiring story of herself gradually turning into Veruschka. She highlighted and exaggerated her decadent beauty and melancholic look. She wore only black; she created a special walk, as if she was filmed in slow motion. Finally, she came up with that peculiar pseudo-Russian name of hers (with the stress falling on the second syllable). She never hesitated to experiment with her looks, and this made her popular with photographers. Later on, she focused on body-art. She painted her skin so that it could imitate ground, trees, animal skin, walls or windows, and her body looked almost transparent on the photos.
Stones were her favourite art objects. In Paris, she said, she always carried small smooth stones with her in the pocket wherever she went.

Spring Wardrobe Plans

New Look

As the spring is approaching (well, I know, it snows heavily and all, but, as for the wardrobe plans, it's always better to give it a thought in advance, and, still, we're not fashion insiders to start reflecting on spring 2011 in October 2010), I've been thinking of a way to transform my current inspirations into something tangible, actual wardrobe pieces.
Here's the result of my musings.
1.Right clothes should make you look taller and thinner, this means high heels, basics, no frills or other extra details, and plain silhouette.
2.I love basic colours, and since last spring, nude, the colour of the human body, has been my favourite. I'd like to have a plain nude top to wear it with what comes as point 3...
3.A long chiffon skirt (black, preferably), to add a poetic hint.
4.The essential part of an outfit is the accessories. I wear my masculine wristwatch day in, day out. Another inevitable piece is a tiny gold necklace (the one with a swallow).
5. For the cold rainy days there's still my leather jacket, which I'm going to wear this spring, too, with a leopard beret and ankle boots.

Les Italiennes

Here are some photos of the ever-elegant and flawless Italian women . With that mild climate of Italia you can wear silk blouses and beautiful dresses, the precious privilege. The ideal Italian woman should resemble the heroine of Amedeo Modigliani's portraits - slender and graceful. So here are my favourite Modigliani's women portraits and their XXI century reincarnations.

The Voguettes

The Vogue Paris crew is adorable. Not only they look incessantly chic but they also look like people making not an overpriced luxury catalogue (a thing that most magazines turned into), but something that women flock to for actual fashion. Their style is easily recognizable: long legs, high heels, black from head to toe. Due to these minimalist leanings, the effect is long, lean and handsome. It possesses the charm of the nonchalance and refined arrogance.
As I find Emmanuelle Alt's and Géraldine Saglio's style most appealing and very inspirational, I was very pleased when the news came that Emmanuelle was appointed the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris. Mes congratulations!

P.S. This is my favourite look par Géraldine.
